Organizations operating day care centers have sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Welfare Minister Haim Katz, in which they threatened not to open the centers on September 2.
The letter said, "In light of the ongoing distress, we reiterate the extreme shortage of caregivers, inappropriate employment conditions, standards that do not allow adequate response to infants and toddlers and other material problems. We demand change and demand your immediate intervention."
