Attorney Zion Amir, who represented Border Guard Ben Dery, expressed his deep disappointment at the Supreme Court ruling which doubled Dari's sentence from 9 months to 18 months on a conviction of negligent homicide in the death of a Palestinian Authority rioter during Nakba Day riots.
Amir said, "I am concerned about the serious implications that this judgment could have on the motivation of soldiers, who will henceforth have a stiff hand on the trigger, and may lead to harm to their operational capability."
