The head of the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council welcomed the "economic easing" of the Gaza Strip as the Kerem Shalom border crossing opened this morning.
"The economic easing of the Gaza Strip is a positive step," said Alon Shuster, head of the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council. "The state of Israel has a human reason and a security interest in improving civilian life in Gaza."
