The Ashdod police have detained a resident of the city for questioning on suspicion of destroying the election posters of Mayor Yechiel Lasry and his Ashdod Betenufah (Ashdod in full swing) list of candidates.

In response, Mayor Lasry said, "I am very sorry for the deterioration of the election campaign, which is undoubtedly a direct result of the incitement and incitement of hatred among the various groups in the city, to which Ashdod residents have recently been exposed." He continued, "I call upon all the candidates to conduct a clean campaign, free of violence, threats and biting language. The day after the elections we all have to stay to live here together. Come, let's not let the extremists set our agenda, and the police must of course continue to show zero tolerance for violent acts that may deteriorate into worse things."
