Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman (United Torah Judaism) said on Sunday, "We have no interest in elections, but we will not be able to compromise on the essential and fundamental issue of preserving the status of yeshiva students whose profession is Torah."

Responding to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's statement that without a coalition agreement on the draft law, a date for the elections would be set next month, Litzman continued, "The various proposals will be brought before the Council of Torah Sages to decide the matter."
