A soldier from the 405th Battalion of the Artillery Corps has asked the Military Advocate General's office to allow him to take part in the Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) march this afternoon in the Israeli Arab city of Umm El-Fahm.
Members of Otzma Yehudit will arrive in the city with Israeli flags and banners demanding the closure of the mosque from produced the incitement that led to last year's murder of the Druze policemen on the Temple Mount. The soldier said in his petition that the march was in memory of the slain policemen and therefore not political. Noting the precedent of the gay pride parade in which soldiers marched and were not punished, he asked the Military Advocate General's office to establish "one law for everyone."
