A senior military official says that Israel is approaching a difficult battle with Hamas.
Speaking to military correspondents following the escalation in the south, he said "We do not see the end of this round. We have attacked more than 140 targets. We are preparing for further attacks. The IDF will move reinforcement forces to the south. The IDF is mobilizing reserves for the Iron Dome batteries. It may take some time to restore quiet to the south." The official said Israel will evacuate Gaza-area communities if necessary.
