Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked said, Sunday evening, that the striking down of the recently-passed Nationality Law by the Supreme Court "would be an earthquake - a war between authorities.

Interviewed by Israel Defense Forces Radio, Shaked explained, "The court cannot disqualify basic laws." Regarding the Druze protest against the law, the minister said that "the pain of the Druze is real - in my opinion the law does not harm the Druze community, but it hurts them and therefore the government has to deal with it."
