Communications Minister Ayoub Kara has been attacked on social media for saying on a News 2 interview program that "someone has jumped on the bandwagon of this poor community," after describing the steps the government had taken on behalf of the Druze.

He was responding to Saturday night's Druze-led protest against the recently-passed Nationality Law. Many Facebook surfers questioned his description of the community and qualifications as a minister. They also called him a puppet of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and said he should be kicked out of the Druze community. Among those disassociating from him was a woman who claimed to be from his village, who said Kara should stand with the protesters and not against them.
