A 13-year-old boy was found walking on his own on Saturday in the Samarian Palestinian Authority village of Huwwara, wearing a shirt with Hebrew writing. When the attempts to communicate with him were unsuccessful, the child was transferred by the PA police to the IDF base in Samaria and from there to the Israel Police.
The policemen took care of the boy, fed him and allowed him to rest. After attempts to communicate with the boy, the policemen realized that he was a deaf mute. Investigators began operations and attempts to locate his parents. His picture and details were conveyed by the PA police and the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria's coordinator for the villages in the area. About that time, the police received a report on a child who was missing from the Ramallah area village of Betuniya, and in a cooperative effort between the Israel Police and the PA police, the boy was transferred to his family.
