The chairman of the Ma'of [public and clerical workers'] Federation, Arnon Bar-David, told Firefighting Commissioner, Dudi Simchi, that in light of the deterioration in labor relations between the fire department and the workers' representatives, and in light of the deadlock in negotiations between the sides, the organizational steps taken by the firefighters will be stepped up.
Bar-David wrote to Simchai, "You ignore previous agreements and summaries, take back and deny any arrangement and understandings reached between you and the negotiating team on your behalf." He concluded, "You have abused the patience and restraint of the workers' representatives, and in light of your conduct, we can no longer restrain ourselves."
