Police on Thursday evening arrested three Arabs on suspicion of assaulting police and throwing rocks at police cars in Lod.

Earlier in the evening, police received reports from residents in Lod about unusual noise coming from a wedding held in a public space. Police arrived at the scene and asked the wedding participants to keep quiet and stop the noise which was bothering the residents.

In response, Arabs began attacking the police who used pepper gas and fired into the air in an attempt to stop the riot. Police forces were called to the scene and arrested three Arab residents of Lod on suspicion of assaulting police officers. The party stopped and the participants were dispersed to their homes.
