According to Channel 2, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered his Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan to halt the promotion of the proposed legislation that has been dubbed the "Facebook law."
The bill, which has been approved in both its second and third readings, would allow the courts to order social media outlets like Facebook to remove content deemed to be "incitement."
Netanyahu's reported concerns center around the application of the law's powers authorizing the removal of post on suspicion of incitement of any form of criminal act and not just related to terror.
