Chairman Yisrael Eichler of the Knesset Public Inquiries Committee said on Tuesday that the state of public transportation at the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem is "catastrophic".
Speaking at a committee meeting, Rabbi Eichler said, "Hundreds of people are crowded into buses like sheep and lose everything they prayed for before, and it has already reached a state of inhumanity. What are we asking for? Basic public transportation, We have already had a number of promises on the matter, countless promises have been made, and no significant change has been made. On the contrary, unfortunately the situation is only getting worse." He noted, "Elsewhere in Israel Egged sometimes sends empty buses. It is not clear why at the Western Wall it chooses to reduce the number of buses."
