US President Donald Trump claimed in a statement posted on Twitter that relations between the United States and Russia have never been as bad as they are at present.
"Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt," Trump wrote.
Trump made his remarks shortly before a planned summit in Finland on Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
