General Hertzi Halevi, who heads the Israel Defense Forces Southern Command, said on Sunday, "We understand that there is a change in thinking about how to cope with the terror of fires," caused by Gaza terrorists.
Briefing commanders in the Gaza envelope region, Halevi added, "We have created a basket of tools. We are starting to create a situation in which Hamas will pay an increasing price for the fires. The IDF, together with firefighters, and the KKL [Keren Kayemet Leyisrael Jewish National Fund -ed.] is dealing with the fires. We have greatly reduced the amount of burned area because we are extinguishing [them] very quickly."
