Maccabi Tel Aviv's basketball team has signed Scottie Wilbekin who was the most valuable player last year in the second-tier Eurocup tournament as his Darüşşafaka Istanbul team won the championship.
The 25-year-old former University of Florida star played for Cairns in the Australian league before going to Istanbul and has played in the North American National Basketball Association's Summer League without sticking to an NBA roster, but has been one of the most sought-after players in Europe.
