Member of Knesset Member Nava Boker (Likud) has submitted an amendment to the "Student Rights" Law according to which there will be no policy of affirmative action in academic institutions for citizens of Israel who have not served in compulsory military or volunteer civilian service.

According to MK Boker, "Affirmative action is intended to correct injustice, and in practice it creates far more serious injustice. It turns the Arabs of Israel who refuse to contribute to the state to the masters and the Jews who carry the burden of protecting the State of Israel to slaves."
