Sources close to Hamas told the London-based Arabic-language Al-Sharq Al-Awsat that the organization wanted Egypt to mediate between Israel and Hamas on the issue of the prisoner exchange and the achievement of calm in Gaza.
The sources said that Hamas had made clear to Egypt its conditions for a prisoner exchange deal, and that the organization insisted that there was no solution that did not include the release of all those released from the Shalit deal who were arrested again.
