Former prime minister Ehud Barak has sharply attacked Minister of Science and Technology Ophir Akunis (Likud) who prevented the appointment of Professor Yael Amitai, one of Israel's leading brain researchers, to an Israeli-German scientific committee, because Amitai signed a petition in 2005 to support soldiers who refuse to serve in Judea and Samaria.
