Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked said on Tuesday, "The State of Israel is committed to striking an iron fist against the launchers of the burning kites and terrorist operatives."
Speaking during a visit to the Gaza perimeter, Shaked said, "An arson kite is no less severe than a mortar shell. A kite in the Gaza vicinity is like a missile on Ashkelon." She stressed, "The residents of the periphery are strong and determined, and the fact is that the number of residents in the councils has increased significantly since [the] Protective Edge [counterterror campaign of 2014]. The farmers cultivate their land despite the fires and as a government, we have to help them with what is possible. Agriculture is not only an economic industry, it is a basic Zionist value in building the country."
