On Monday, two years since the death of Nobel Prize winner Elie Wiesel, a memorial plaque was unveiled at Holocaust Basement on Mount Zion, the first Holocaust museum in Israel. It was placed next to the Tree of Life, a 70-year-old mulberry tree, which was also dedicated to the memory of the Holocaust writer and speaker.
The event was held at the initiative of Limmud FSU. Limmud FSU founder Chaim Chesler said, "Elie Wiesel loved the city of Jerusalem with all his soul, and therefore the choice to hold the event to mark two years since his passing in the heart of the city was taken for granted."
