The Knesset's Labor, Welfare and Health Committee today approved the government's bill for the second and third reading, according to which parents of a sick child who was entitled to a disabled child's pension and died before the age of 18 will be eligible for professional rehabilitation and placement at work, including subsistence allowance and diagnostic expenses.
This is similar to the right granted to a widow or widower, victims of hostile acts, and some of the population of the disabled and work-injured. The bill will apply retroactively from January 2018.
