Jewish Agency Chairman-elect Yitzhak Herzog spoke on Channel 2 about his election and said that the prime minister had not yet telephoned to congratulate him.

"Netanyahu has not yet called, but I do not measure with a stopwatch," he said, adding that "the challenge in the job - part of our people does not feel connected to Israel, and Israelis do not feel connected to them. I am bothered by loss from generation to generation of many Jews to assimilation."
