U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, formally announced a short time ago that the United States is withdrawing from the United Nations Human Rights Council.
"This step is not a retreat. We did not make this decision lightly. We were well aware of the flaws in the Council. We could have withdrawn immediately," she said.
