Chairman Natan Engelsman of the Likud National headquarters said, Thursday, "I was exposed to horrific material about the torture that was used against the people who were interrogated" in the arson murder in the Palestinian Authority village of Duma, which took three lives in the summer of 2015. He added, "A grave incident, as it may be, does not justify methods of action that include torture against interrogated and the denial of their basic rights as human beings."
Engelsman also said, "I call on Knesset members who wish that the investigation of the arson in Duma lead to the investigation of the truth to demand the exposure of the torture that was used against the interrogated. It is inconceivable that the Shabak [Israel Security Agency -ed.] will take advantage of the confidentiality on the case in order to deceive the public. Let the public see and judge."
