In the coming school year, a new Ulpana girls' high school will be opened in the Lachish region community of Bnei Dekalim as part of the growth of the network of Yeshivot and Ulpanot Bnei Akiva educational institutions.
The Ulpana is expected to serve the communities of the southern Hevron hills, Kiryat Gat and Beit Shemesh, as well as the settlements of Carmei Katif, Eliav, Neta, Shomria, Amatzia and Bnei Dekalim. It should be noted that there is no secondary educational institution in the Lachish region. Seventh and eighth grades will be opened as part of an external program, and 9th grade in a semi-boarding school. At the head of the ulpana will be Shira Greenwald, who until now served as principal of the high school at the Gilo Ulpan in Beit Shemesh.
