Former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo has revealed, in an interview to be broadcast on Thursday evening's Uvda program, that he almost resigned seven years ago, after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu instructed the defense establishment to prepare for an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities so that such an attack could be carried out within 15 days of issuing an order.
Pardo says he checked with a number of authorities to make sure such an operation was not illegal. He did not have to make the decision about resigning. The operation was canceled after Netanyahu accepted the position of the top echelon of the defense establishment, which strongly opposed carrying it out.
