The Knesset has approved the first reading of a bill, under which, an institution of higher education will determine, after consultation with student organizations, a program to integrate students in social and community activities on a volunteer basis, and to recognize this activity as entitling them to academic credits.
The academic institution will be entitled to recognize participation in a course from a list of courses in cooperation with non-political social organizations and organizations as a social and community activity that will grant the student two credit points. Credits will also be granted for reserve duty.
