Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said at the start of the Likud faction meeting, "Next week I will go to Europe, meet with [German Chancellor Angela] Merkel and [French President Emmanuel] Caron, and perhaps with [British Prime Minister Theresa] May, too. I'll talk with them about curbing Iran's nuclear ambitions and its expansion in the Middle East."

Netanyahu added that "in the matter of Syria, our position is clear. There is no room for an Iranian presence anywhere in Syria, and our position reflects the views of others in the Middle East and beyond."
