Chairman Effi Naveh of the Israel Bar Association said on Sunday that a measure to give the Knesset the power to override vetoes of its laws by the Supreme Court is "wrong". Making it clear it was his personal opinion and not that of the association, he said the matter must be agreed upon.

Speaking at the association's convention in Eilat, he suggested an 11-justice panel be required to overturn laws. He stressed that a Basic Law on the matter would be better than the current proposal.
