The Chabad Lubavitch hasidic movement in Beit Shemesh has announced that it is running an independent list for the city council.
In the previous election campaign, Chabad was represented by the Shlomei Emunim faction. The man who is supposed to represent Hasidism is Rabbi Yisrael Mendelson, the brother of the Chabad emissary in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Rabbi Binyamin Mendelson.
