Gaza-vicinity farmers announced, Sunday, their intention to file a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court in The Hague against senior Hamas figures in Gaza through the Shurat Hadin Israel Law Center. This is the first civilian response to kite terrorism, which has seen thousands of dunams (quarter acres) go up in flames.

The farmers seek to sue for a series of offenses that are a flagrant violation of many articles of the Rome Statute, including the burning of agricultural fields by burning kites, attacking Israel's borders, using children for combat purposes, and using the civilian population as human shields.
