Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on his countrymen to convert their savings from dollars and euros into Turkish Lira as part of his efforts to improve the status of the Turkish currency, which weakened by 20 percent against the US currency during the year.
"My brothers who have dollars and euros under the pillow: Go and convert your money to the Lira," Erdogan said.
