Secretary-General Ophir Sofer of the National Union Party sent a letter to Attorney General Avihai Mandelblit on Thursday, saying that there is a strong suspicion of terrorist activity by Knesset members on the Joint List, following the participation of MKs Ayman Odeh, Aida Toma Suleiman and Yosef Jabarin in the violent riots in Haifa last week, as well as anti-Israel remarks.
Sofer wrote,"We call upon you to immediately open an investigation into the conduct of Arab Knesset members and to bring them to justice. We demand that the Joint List be prevented from running in the next elections. To remind you, in the past, the Central Elections Committee rejected certain lists on the grounds of supporting an armed struggle of a terrorist organization, a move that was stopped by the attorney general and the Supreme Court at the time. We urge you to advance this process already now."
