Following reports about the possible purchase of an armored vehicle for Sarah Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's Office published a statement this morning, saying, "The prime minister, his wife and his office are not involved in any way in decisions relating to protection and security, including the issue of the armored vehicle for the prime minister's wife."

The statement explained, "Responsibility for this is in the hands of the security department in the ministry, and the decisions on this matter are made solely on the basis of security and professional considerations, and without the involvement of the prime minister and his wife."
