On Tuesday morning, a fire broke out in a high rise complex in the city of Uman, Ukraine, close to the gravesite of Rav Nachman of Breslov, a site commonly visited by Jews all over the world around the holidays.
Volunteer Emergency Medical Service first responders from United Hatzalah as well as the organization’s ambulance team from the city responded to the emergency and treated 8 people who had suffered light injuries including burns and smoke inhalation. Those injured included a number of Breslov Chassidim who were visiting the city for the holiday of Shavuot (Pentecost).
