Erdan to the EU: Israel does not need moral warnings

Public Safety Minister Gilad Erdan has rejected the European Union's call for an investigation into the Israel Police's handling of a demonstration in Haifa on Friday, in which the head of an organization for Arab rights claims police were responsible for breaking his leg.

Erdan said, "The State of Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East, does not need moral warnings from a biased and obsessive body such as the European Union. I propose that the union not interfere in the internal affairs of Israel."
