The Israeli Council on Foreign Relations, which operates under the World Jewish Congress, held a festive meal this morning in honor of outgoing President Horacio Cartes of Paraguay, on the occasion of the transfer of his country's embassy to Jerusalem. Council President Dan Meridor thanked President Cartes for his historic decision.
Cartes said, "On my last visit as president, I decided to come here and transfer the Paraguayan embassy to Jerusalem. This is a correct historical decision. If you have any doubt, just read the Bible. We are beginning a new relationship with Israel, during which we will think together and work together. I can only add and say that I love you very much."
