PM to Assad: Remove Iran and Hezbollah and we'll stop attacks

Citing the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida, Maariv reported on Tuesday an Israeli-American offer to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, in which he was told, "Remove Iranian forces from Syria, and in return Israeli attacks will cease and American forces will withdraw from Syrian territory."

According to an anonymous source at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed the proposal from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to Assad at their recent meeting in Sochi, stating that Hezbollah forces also had to leave. The source said senior Russian officials told their Tehran counterparts that the activities of the Revolutionary Guards and the forces under their control in Syria could drag the region into an all-out war and asked them to distance themselves from the border area with Israel.
