The Knesset's Interior and Environmental Protection Committee has approved administrative fines of up to NIS 600,000 for offenses of illegal construction, illegal use or violation of demolition orders.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "After years in which planning and building was run like the Wild West, we have put an end to lawlessness. The government, under my leadership, has led comprehensive reform in the area of enforcement, and today we have completed the final stage which includes administrative fines of unprecedented sums for planning and building criminals. The law applies to everyone, even when it comes to illegal construction."
