Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu hosted President Juan Carlos Varela of Panama in his office in Jerusalem. At the meeting, a free trade agreement was signed between the two countries and a memorandum of understanding was signed on the establishment of a center of excellence in agriculture in Panama, in which Israeli technologies and training will be integrated.
At the start of the meeting, Netanyahu told his guest,"We have a common struggle to fight terror and to fight those who support terror and send terrorists. We do it in the Middle East, and this is affecting the world today."
