Hamas Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar said on Wednesday that Hamas "is not interested in a deterioration into a military confrontation," with Israel.
Interviewed by Al-Jazeera, Sinwar said that Hamas and Egypt had reached understandings to prevent a deterioration in Gaza. He added, "Hamas preferred a nonviolent protest against the fence over rocket fire."
