The Knesset Science and Technology Committee held a special meeting on Monday to promote and implement flood warning technologies following the recent tragedy in Nachal Tzafit, in which 10 students of a pre-military academy were swept to their deaths by floodwaters.
Committee Chairman Uri Maklev, members of the committee and professionals from various authorities agreed that the government should set up a body or consolidate the function from existing systems so that they will be known to the public and available to travelers and visitors to the applicable places.
