Former Supreme Court Justice Salim Jubran has told a conference in his honor by the Haifa District of the Bar Association and the Ono Academic College, "I am very concerned about some of the politicians and their attack on the Supreme Court."

The comments have been made in the course of discussion about a proposal to let the Knesset override Supreme Court striking down of legislation. Jubran said, "They say that the Supreme [Court] justices are leftists, and one of them even said that he would come there with a D9 [bulldozer -ed]. This attack must stop. Everything that happens around the override clause harms democracy, harms human rights and harms the Arab minority in Israel."
