Minister Ze'ev Elkin said on Thursday that Mayor Nir Barkat of Jerusalem asked him to run to succeed him.
Interviewed by 101.5FM, Elkin said, "Nir Barkat wants me to run. He was one of the first to approach me." Referring to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, he added, "The Likud has a chairman, and together we will decide how to act.
