Chairman Avi Gabbay of the Labor Party said on Monday, "We are fighting against any law that erodes democracy." Referring at the start of the Zionist Union Knesset faction meeting to legislation to give the Knesset the power to override the Supreme Court on the laws it passes, he said, "It is not a game of 61, 65 or 70 [Knesset members specified in the law to override the court]. Basic Laws are Basic Laws are Basic Laws. They cannot be bypassed by capricious legislation. We will fight inside and outside the Knesset and beyond, everywhere. And on Shabbat - in Tel Aviv."

Referring to recent election polls, Gabbay added, "No survey will bring [Knesset] seats when there is no democracy, [Yesh Atid Chairman Yair] Lapid and [Kulanu Chairman Moshe] Kahlon, get off the comfortable and familiar fence."
