Chairman Ayman Odeh of the Joint List of predominantly Arab parties is demanding that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu apologize for his criticism of Bnei Sakhnin supporters who booed and whistled during a minute of silence in memory of the those who perished in the Arava disaster before their Premier League match.
Odeh said, "The prime minister has forgotten his position and is behaving like the last of the thugs in the stands. He continues to lie and incite unrestrained incitement against the Arab public. It is a dehumanization of an entire public, aimed at removing us from the circle of legitimacy and influence." He concluded, "The facts don't interest Netanyahu and he does not really care whether the Sakhnin fans stood at attention or not in memory of the victims of the flood disaster - according to all the witnesses, and according to the television broadcasts, the fans respected the moment of silence."
