French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday that he believes United States President Donald Trump will not do all he can to stay in the 2015 deal between the international community and Iran on the Tehran government's nuclear development program.
Macron told a Washington, DC news conference, “My view – I don’t know what your president will decide – is that he will get rid of this deal on his own, for domestic reasons.” He said he had come to the conclusion based not on inside information, but on what Trump said publicly during Macron's visit.
