Cabinet approves new national priority map

The government today announced localities and areas that will be recognized as national priorities for the allocation of resources by ministries for the years 2018-2021.

For the first time, a map of a social periphery is being approved for the use of all government ministries. The map includes weak neighborhoods and settlements, which have not yet received a government response in the framework of the decision on priority towns. Another innovation in the new map is the preference for clusters of local authorities. The clusters, which began operating in recent years, are voluntary associations of local authorities. The general map includes about 25% of the population of the State of Israel, and the map of the social periphery will include about 30% of the population.
